There is more to the world of calligraphy!Calligraphic Murals!!

I learnt how to make calligraphic murals after my 12th boards (I had a lot of time to engage in my hobbies). I love making Murals. The colours, textures of these murals can be played around easily and made as interesting as one wants them to be.
I love the fact that it is a distinct member from the family of 'calligraphy'.
The unique textures formed by the smooth/irregular/ rough movement of hands really makes me feel awed.
Sometimes I feel that the texture you let your fingers and hands to make unconsciously determine your state of mind at that moment at that time..I realized this fact from experience.
The area surrounding the sculpture of the gods or goddesses are an amalgamation of Plaster of Paris, Fevicol and acrylic Paints in right proportions.

This was my first mural.I love the colours around ganeshji. And i love how the rays with colours slowly transform from the reddish-black to oragish-yellow. And the others follow :)

18th May 2010

This blog is not about my day to day activities. Its about the things I make.Material maybe ranging from paper to ropes. Yes, I am a very crafty person.
I realized that my hands are the best gifts of god to me. Everything i make/build is made possible by my treasured hands.I do not know what I would do without them. When m totally stressed out, I make things out of paper, ropes, threads unconciously and during the process of construction i am able to process my thoughts and plan my future actions.
I din get to make stuff for the past couple of months but m gona put my past works and soon update it with newer ones. Till then have fun! :)

Macrame is the art of knotting. Knots of different styles and types can be made with ropes or any kind of thread material. One must have noticed hammocks are often made of macrame. Some examples of macrame knots are here for u to see.

I love doing macrame, trying out different styles on different objects really makes me feel rejuvinated.
