wall colour

Few days back I got up with an idea which i really wanted to try out. I stuck several hooks (that we use to hang something)to my wall beside the dressing table in a random order. After that i used them to hang my bangles.
I personally think this is an awesome way to decorate your wall/add colour to it.
Also it is the easiest way to get your hands on the bangles.( I hate digging out the innumerable boxes of bangles early in the morning just to find the one that i need)

A way to add colour to the wall maybe?

cloth

I made these flowers with felt cloth to add to the decor of my wall, however i ended up sticking it up in my studio as it makes me feel positive as soon as I enter my personal space.

RED one is for u hansa!i love you!

Roll all the way

I made this basket with the intention of making a lot of them and using each of the baskets for my accessories. However I dropped that idea after I realized the amount of time consumed in making it.

I rolled each of the origami paper and stuck them to each other to form a container/basket.

With all the planning done previously, in the end it sits happily on my desk in my studio in nafa as a pin.staples, small stationery holder.

Small gifts :)

Some more of the flowers that I made for my boss and my colleague as a token of my thanks. I always feel one should express their feelings whenever possible where ever possible. If u love some body express it, if u feel u need to thank some one, go ahead, if u want to appreciate someone/somebody do it whole heartedly. Gestures/ small gifts often add to the bucket of happy memories to be cherished later :)

Token of appreciation :)

Paper

I had this origami ball in mind since March 2011. And finally during the summer break i got time to actually try it out. Here is some of the origami that i indulged it.

Origami never fails to fascinate me. The fact that no glue/staple/tape is used to make such a wonderful piece of art is simply overwhelming.

Wallet cum key chain.

During my looong break i indulged myself in macrame and origami yet again.
I always wanted to make a macrame wallet where i can slide in my notes straight in. So i tried one and made a final one in black. Ria wanted one so one in red for her. The red one was just perfect.

Wallet out of synthetic threads with attached key chain

Easy to sliding in the money

Sometimes it happens that we want to go down for a little while and do not feel like carrying our bulky ring of keys. That is when we can always attach only the house keys/required keys, have some money inside the wallet and we are ready to go!!!

The red one has a neater and lean look and I love it!

I just love the beads!!

Origami Flowers

Origami is another activity that has always attracted me. The fact that all the objects/pieces are made of paper without the use of glue/tape/stapler still amazes me.I remember how i use to buy the origami books during my younger days and try making different objects by following the instructions religiously.

During my NAFA days, once when i was very stressed, i happen to come across the origami site and all my childhood memories flashed in front of me. During that time i made origami flowers (it was a great stress reliever) and gifted them to my roommate. Now they very conveniently stand in the flower holder between our beds.:)

Sitting happily in their stand

During my gradshow, i wanted to give my lecturers a token of 'thankyou teacher' for their continuous guidance and support all through the three years. I LOVE NAFA 3d dept lecturers, they guide the students through thick and thin. They may be hard on you but at the end of the day, they are with you. SO i made a collection of flowers and gave one to each of them along with a thankyou card :)

Younger days!

I learnt macrame during school and soon it became my favourite hobby.
Some of the macrame things i made...

Pot Hanger
My first ever pot hanger, I was really proud of it that time.

That time i was short of beads, so i just tied the macrame thread to replace the beads. The macrame thread completely complimented the pot hanger and left me with no regret.

I wanted to try macrame on jute material, I am pretty happy with the outcome.
i somehow love jute material. I love the rawness and roughness of jute material.

It's been my dream to open my own shop of these products. Its one thing I enjoy doing anywhere anytime. I hope I can open my own business and take this art of knotting to another level.
